The role

We are looking for a passionate frontend developer to transform our software suite, bringing modern design, UI and best practices to everything we build. You’ll join a growing and collaborative engineering team where you’ll be an influential voice on how to bring our products alive on the web.

You will work closely with stakeholders from across the entire business to understand their product and user requirements and then translate those into exciting designs and clean code that improves accessibility and performance for our web audience.

There’s a wide range of software products to sink your teeth into at the Unseen Group, meaning you’ll have to be well-versed in the latest frontend technologies such as NextJS, React and VueJS and be excellent at core web technologies such as HTML, CSS and vanilla Javascript.

From day one you will be immersed into project work, collaborating with our tight-knit team of developers for peer support and code review.

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

Designing impactful UI/UX

• Translate branding direction into exciting and impactful software product designs for the web.
• Create responsive, accessible and desirable user interface and experience designs.
• Evolve our product design to enhance our market leading positions.
• Demonstrate designs by mocking or prototyping propositions.

Crafting and testing performant code

• Write high-quality and efficient front-end code to bring designs to life.
• Write and deploy automated testing across our web platforms.
• Safeguard against visual and functional regressions by testing changes effectively to ensure quality.
• Identify improvements to existing codebase, offer and engineer creative solutions.
• Reduce technical debt to improve maintainability.

Collaboration

• Work closely with the internal stakeholders as part of a project squad to understand user requirements and lead creative and design input of web products
• Collect feedback from customer-facing teams to influence the evolution of our web platforms

What you’ve done:

• Proficient in HTML, CSS and vanilla Javascript.
• Proficient in web based frameworks like SCSS, Tailwind and Angular.
• Experienced in working with SPA frontend technologies like React/Vue.
• Experienced in next generation frontend technologies like NextJS.
• Familiar with mocking and designing tools.
